Qualifications
I have been active on transit issues for years. I served as Transportation
Chair on the Board of Directors for the League of Women Voters of
the Bay Area from 1996 to 2004. We strongly advocated for the Transbay
Terminal as a regional transit hub. I also served as the League’s
representative on ACTIA’s (Alameda County Transportation Improvement
Authority) Citizens Watchdog Committee from its inception in 2001
until last month. I have found my past training and practice as an
architect has been very useful in understanding transit issues. And,
I use buses and other transit on a daily basis—I do not own
a car.
